Welcome to Field Notes!
This blog is essentially a frequently updated collection of the challenges facing Arizona’s public lands — that meaning everything from the Grand Canyon to city parks in Prescott. You may ask, what constitutes a “challenge?” Cassie’s answer would be that anything that threatens Arizonan’s right to enjoy Arizona’s public lands is a challenge. That could mean anything from planned high-rises on the edge of the Grand Canyon to parks being closed due to lack of funding to a law that would allow visitors to take pieces of the Petrified Forest.
They are our lands — we should know what’s happening with them.
